This is for win95, I was told that it would work for Win98 also. This scanner needs a proprietary card in the EISA slot to connect the scanner to. Also there is a special scanner cable that must be used. I tried a straight 25 -> 25 pin cable and a printer cable, neither worked, I got errors. I just got the scanner cable and will be trying that. The scanner cable will carry the 12 volts and the 5 volts for the I have not been able to get it to work on 98 yet. Win98 asked for a "*.inf" file to see the driver to use the scanner. I don't have it working on 98 yet. The programs may control the device direct without the "*.inf" file. Good luck!
